Sri Sai Construction Company Private Limited has won a contract worth Rs 242.8 million for Vaitarna-Sachin section of the western dedicated freight corridor project (WDFC). The bids for the same were invited by IRCON International Limited in March 2021. The scope of work includes construction of civil works up to formation for double line railway involving formation in embankments/cuttings, blanketing, minor bridges and road-under-bridges (RuBs) (excluding those already awarded to other contractors) retaining walls, drains, ground improvement works, relocation of existing roads etc. from chainage 102.1 km to 103.2 km and from chainage 103.73 km to 103.98 km (Package SS1A-I). The work is scheduled to be completed in a period of four months. WDFC involves development of 1,504 km long heavy haul freight corridor of double line electric (2 X 25 kV) tracks in Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh
