U.C. Geo-Consultancy Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for geotechnical investigation works including drilling of bore holes, collecting test samples and laboratory testing between Chainage 0 km-chainage 62 km in connection with Dharamjaigarh-Urga section of the Korba-Kharsia New Rail Line Project (Chhattisgarh Eastern Railway Corridor). The firm has quoted an amount of Rs 5.49 million. Bids for both the packages were invited by IRCON International Limited in October 2022.

The work is expected to be completed in 60 days.

Furthermore, MNEC Consultants Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for modification/preparation of single line Broad Gauge (BG) track alignment design and ESPs and conducting detailed topography and hydrology survey between Chainage (Ch.) 0 – 62 (including double track from Ch. 1.4 to 2.3) and Flyover Line from 0 km to  6.9 km in Dharamjaigarh-Urga section of the project. The firm has quoted an amount of Rs 3.38 million. The work is expected to be completed in 60 days.

The project involves laying of a 180 km long new rail line between Kharsia and Korba in the state of Chhattisgarh in the South East Central Railway (SECR) section. The line would be developed under the East Corridor taking the route of Kharsia-Chhal-Gharghoda-Korichhapar-Dharamjaigarh-Korba to connect coal mines of Gare-Pelma block. The tracks would be laid on broad gauge. The project will be implemented in two phases: Phase I includes Kharsia to Dharamjaigarh (0 to 74 km) and Phase II includes Dharamjaigarh to Korba (about 62 km).
